Handwritten Lyrics of David Bowie's Legendary Songs Auctioned for €115,000

The handwritten lyrics of two David Bowie songs will be auctioned at Omega Auctions with a starting price of €115,000 (£100 thousand).
This was reported by the BBC.
The manuscript includes corrections, drafts, and notes made by David Bowie himself during the creation of the legendary songs "Rock ’n’ Roll Suicide" and "Suffragette City." These tracks later became part of the globally renowned 1972 album "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars."
Previously, the auction house sold a page of the handwritten lyrics to one of David Bowie's hits, "Starman," for £165,000.
In 2018, a record was set when the first known recording of David Bowie, a 16-year-old vocalist for The Konrads, was sold for £40,000. The cassette contained the song "I Never Dreamed," recorded in 1963 when The Konrads asked the young Bowie, then performing under the name David Jones, to sing the vocal part.
David Bowie, one of the most famous British rock singers and the author of numerous legendary songs, had a career spanning 50 years. He became one of the most influential musicians of all time, with his albums selling over 136 million copies.
Bowie passed away on January 10, 2016, at the age of 69. Before his death, the British music legend battled liver cancer for eighteen months. Despite his illness, Bowie released a new album, "Blackstar," three days before his death.
Earlier, The Gaze reported that a Fender Mustang guitar belonging to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain was sold for a record $1,587,500 at an auction in the United States.
"This is a really incredible historic guitar. Of course, it's Kurt Cobain. It's his Fender Mustang. It's his SkyStang 1 guitar, his workhorse, his most played guitar of all time," said Executive Director of Julien's Auctions, Martin Nolan.
Also, other items belonging to Kurt were auctioned off. Specifically, the legendary rock star's jeans worn in the 'Heart-Shaped Box' music video fetched $412,750. Manuscripts of the song 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' and unopened American Spirit cigarettes were also sold, likely becoming the most expensive cigarettes in history as they were purchased for $5,200.
