Inside Out 2 Grosses $1.2bn and Becomes Pixar's Most Successful Animated Film
The animated film Inside Out 2 earned $1.251 billion and became the highest-grossing film in Pixar's history, surpassing The Incredibles 2, which grossed $1.242 billion.
This was reported by IGN.
Inside Out 2 ranks fifth among all animated films, behind only Frozen ($1.274 billion), The Super Mario Bros. Movie ($1.361bn), Frozen 2 ($1.451bn) and 2019's The Lion King ($1.663bn).
Among other things, Pixar's new animated film reached the $1 billion mark the fastest in the history of animation, taking only 19 days to do so.
It is also the most profitable premiere of 2024. The gap with Dune: Part Two, which is in second place, is quite large. The film grossed $711 million as opposed to the cartoon's $1.251 billion.
As The Gaze previously reported, last year, the Ukrainian animated film Mavka: The Forest Song was released widely in Europe. It topped almost all premiere releases, and in the Italian box office, the gross revenue from Mavka exceeded €1,000,000. Following the first 13 weeks of screenings, the box office of the animated film Mavka: The Forest Song totalled more than €3.7 million.
