Hollywood Star Angelina Jolie Visits Kherson to Support Ukrainian Children
Angelina Jolie visited Ukraine — the actress did not come to a rear city, but to Kherson itself.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to Unian on Telegram.
The famous Hollywood star arrived as part of a charity program to help war victims. During her visit, Jolie has already visited several local medical facilities.
The published photos show the actress spending time with children in a shelter, supporting them and trying to bring them some joy despite the difficult conditions.
This is not the first time Angelina Jolie has shown her support for Ukraine. Back in 2014, she spoke of her solidarity and prayed for peace, and in April 2022, she personally visited Lviv. There, she attended a coffee shop in Lviv, a hospital for children affected by shelling and explosions, and a center for children and young people with disabilities. Jolie spoke with evacuated families and volunteers, including children who were injured during a rocket attack on the train station in Kramatorsk, and was moved by their stories.
As a UNHCR Special Envoy, the actress continues to draw the world's attention to the humanitarian situation in Ukraine.
Moreover, in her Instagram post in June 2023, she called on the international community to help Ukrainians directly through local non-governmental organizations.
Jolie stressed that Ukrainian NGOs receive a meager share of international donations and that the model for distributing aid must change so that more funds go directly to those working on the ground.
Prior to this, the actress had already supported Ukrainian refugee children in Rome by visiting the Bambino Gesu hospital, where children forced to leave their homes due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian army are being treated.
The Gaze reported earlier that the Hollywood actress reached out to 14-year-old Polina, a Ukrainian girl who was seriously injured in a Russian missile strike on Izium in February 2025. The attack on the city, carried out by a Russian Iskander missile, killed five people and injured 57 others.
Polina was being treated at Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital, where doctors are working to help her walk again. After learning that meeting Jolie was one of the girl’s biggest dreams, the actress spoke with her online and sent a heartfelt message of encouragement.
