Intelligence Confirms Russian Occupiers Using Starlink in War: Elon Musk Denies in Tweet
"Radio intercepts of the invaders' conversations show that Starlink terminals were installed, for example, in units of the 83rd Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces to establish Internet access. The occupation troops of the 83rd Air Assault Brigade of the terrorist Russia are operating in Donetsk region near Klishchiyivka and Andriivka. In a comment to RBC-Ukraine, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine's representative Andriy Yusov noted that the scale of Russian use of Starlink terminals in the war is growing," the Defence Intelligence said.
In turn, Elon Musk tweeted that he was not aware of the sale of Starlink terminals to Russia, directly or indirectly.
"A number of false news reports claim that SpaceX is selling Starlink terminals to Russia. This is categorically untrue. To our knowledge, no Starlink terminals have been sold directly or indirectly to Russia," Musk wrote.
However, according to intelligence, radio intercepts of the invaders' conversation indicate that Starlink terminals were installed, in particular, in the units of the 83rd Air Assault Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces in the occupied Ukrainian territory - in Donetsk region.
Earlier, the European Commission initiated an official investigation to document violations of the EU Digital Services Act by Elon Musk's X social network, particularly in areas related to content moderation and advertising transparency. This concerned the distribution of illegal content in the context of Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel.
