Invictus Games 2025 Conclude in Canada: Ukraine Wins 32 Medals in 11 Sports - 12 Gold, 11 Silver and 9 Bronze

The day before, Canada hosted the last day of the Invictus Games 2025 and the closing ceremony with the participation of the Games' founder, Prince Harry, and Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau. These are the largest competitions involving veterans and military personnel from 23 countries.
Ukraine finished Invictus Games 2025 with a total of 32 medals: 12 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze. The Ukrainian team was represented by 35 veterans. They were congratulated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
‘This is the result not only of months of training and rehabilitation, but also of the Ukrainian character and spirit. Invincibility and strength are about you, about Ukrainians and Ukrainian women,’ Zelensky said.
These Games have become, first and foremost, a victory for each participant over themselves, with their own records, sports ‘bars’ surpassed and fears overcome.
This year, veterans and servicemen from the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia won the largest number of medals at the Invictus Games.
At the beginning of the closing ceremony, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered an opening speech. The Canadian prime minister paid special attention to the political situation, in particular to the recent statements by US President Donald Trump regarding Canada's status as the ‘51st state’. However, the Canadian prime minister assured that the United States and Canada ‘will never stop fighting for the friendship that unites both countries’ and ‘have values and friendship that have stood the test of time.’ As a sign of unity, Trudeau greeted the US athletes and took a photo with them.
The Prime Minister of Canada also addressed the Ukrainian participants separately, assuring them that his country would be with Ukraine ‘every step of the way to victory’ in the war against Russia. The Canadian Prime Minister's words were met with loud applause.
After the Canadian Prime Minister's speech, Prince Harry, the founder of the Invictus Games, also took the floor, praising the strength of veterans' spirit, which, in his opinion, the world needs now “perhaps more than ever”.
Following Prince Harry's speech, Invictus Games 2025 Executive Director Scott Moore said that the competition had generated more than $5 million in revenue. These funds will be used for various veteran programmes in Canada. The closing ceremony at Rogers Arena was attended by 12,000 people.
At the end of the closing ceremony, the Invictus Games flag was handed over to Birmingham. The UK will host the next Invictus Games in 2027.
