American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez is divorcing American actor and screenwriter Ben Affleck for the second time, 18 years after their first divorce. This is reported by the BBC with reference to a court filing that Lopez filed on 20 August in a Los Angeles court.

The court document states that Lopez or her lawyer must provide Affleck with a copy of the divorce petition.

Media reports say that Lopez, who legally changed her name to Affleck, did not provide any details of the prenuptial agreement in her divorce petition.

The document states that Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, must share financial information, including current income, expenses, assets and debts. It also states that both must disclose any changes in their finances ‘until a final agreement is reached on all financial matters in the divorce case’.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been married for the second time since 2022, when they got married in Las Vegas in July and held a wedding ceremony in August in Georgia.

Media reports say that they first developed feelings for each other during the filming of the comedy Jill by American director Martin Brest back in 2003. They were dating and planning to get married, but broke off their relationship in early 2004.

They managed to resume their relationship 18 years after the breakup.

‘Love is beautiful. Love is good. And love, it turns out, is patient. Twenty years of patience,’ Lopez said in 2022 after announcing her wedding in Las Vegas.

Earlier, tabloids wrote that the couple had put their Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, estate up for sale for $65 million (approximately UAH 2.6 billion).

Currently, according to the order of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the Lopez have 60 days to share financial information. A similar countdown will begin for Affleck as soon as the court receives information about Lopez's income during the marriage. If the couple fails to do so, the court may decide to impose sanctions.
