Lithuania to Offer €176 Benefits to Ukrainian Refugees
Lithuania will provide one-time payments of 176 euros to newly arrived Ukrainian refugees from the war. This was reported by LRT with reference to the Vilnius office of the International Organization for Migration.
The organisation noted that the number of Ukrainian refugees arriving in the country has decreased, but Lithuania still receives several dozen Ukrainians every week.
‘And they certainly need financial assistance, first and foremost. That is why we will provide vulnerable war refugees with one-time payments for the most necessary expenses,’ said IOM Lithuania Chief of Mission Eitvydas Bingialis.
As noted, the support will be provided to citizens of Ukraine or third countries who first arrived in Lithuania from Ukraine and crossed the external border of the European Union no earlier than 40 calendar days ago.
Those wishing to receive the payment must register with the Department of Migration to obtain a temporary residence permit in Lithuania, and they must also meet certain criteria.
Assistance will be provided to single parents or guardians who arrived with one or more children under 18, families with three or more children under 18, families with a child with disabilities under 18 (support will be provided to children and adults), pregnant women, persons aged 60 and over, and persons with disabilities.
