Melania Trump Reports Dialogue with Putin on Abducted Ukrainian Children

US First Lady Melania Trump said she had established a direct line of communication with Vladimir Putin to facilitate the return of abducted Ukrainian children.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to Ukrinform and Live.Pravda.
During a press conference, Melania Trump announced that the Kremlin leader had responded to her letter, which was delivered via Donald Trump during his meeting with Putin in Alaska. In its response, the Russian side allegedly expressed its willingness to cooperate on the return of Ukrainian children who were illegally taken to Russia after the start of the full-scale invasion.
According to the First Lady, her representative coordinated with Putin's team to organize the process of reuniting the children with their families. As a result, over the past day, eight Ukrainian children who had been separated from their families due to hostilities or displacement across the border have been returned.
Melania Trump stressed that every one of these stories is evidence of the tragic impact of war on Ukrainian children.
"Each of these children has been traumatized by the war in Ukraine. Three were separated from their parents and moved to the Russian Federation due to fighting on the front lines. The other five were separated from their family members across borders," the First Lady said.
She also noted that the Russian side had provided biographical data, photographs, and information about the medical and social services allegedly provided to Ukrainian children.
In addition, Melania Trump announced that five more Ukrainian children would be reunited with their families in the near future, expressing hope that this process would continue.
“This work is ongoing. Plans are already being developed to reunite more children in the near future. I hope that peace will come soon, and it can start with our children,” Melania Trump emphasized.
The Gaze previously informed that, according to a new study by Yale University, the number of places where Ukrainian children are being held in Russia has risen sharply, with more than 210 locations identified for their re-education and militarization.
