US First Lady Melania Trump said that seven more Ukrainian children, previously abducted by Russia, have returned home.

The Gaze reports on it, referring to the White House.

Melania Trump emphasized that the latest return of the children was made possible by joint diplomatic efforts between Ukraine and Russia, resulting in a tangible humanitarian outcome. She stressed the importance of maintaining dialogue to ensure conditions for the further reunification of Ukrainian families with children illegally taken during the war.

“My dedication to guaranteeing the safe return of children to their families in this region is unwavering," she noted.

The First Lady also noted that her team joined the process by providing humanitarian support from the United States, primarily to improve coordination and conditions for the implementation of the initiative to return the children. According to her, this helped to strengthen the cooperation mechanisms necessary to move forward with the next stages.

As a result, seven more Ukrainian children (six boys and one girl) were able to return to their families. The White House noted that these steps should form the basis for continuing work on the release and return of other illegally deported Ukrainian children.

"My hope is that, ultimately, our collective efforts will lead to broader regional stability,” Melania Trump concluded.

In recent months, US First Lady Melania Trump has become one of the most prominent international figures publicly drawing attention to the issue of illegally deported Ukrainian children.

The key moment was her “peace letter” to Putin, which Donald Trump handed to the Russian leader before their meeting in Alaska. In this letter, Melania Trump called for global cooperation to protect children — not only Ukrainian children, but also those suffering from war and humanitarian crises.

It is noteworthy that Putin read the letter aloud in front of the American and Russian delegations, giving this initiative public weight. In response, according to the First Lady, the Kremlin demonstrated for the first time its willingness to cooperate to a limited extent on the return of Ukrainian children.

Melania Trump then announced the establishment of a direct channel of communication with the Russian side. According to her, this made it possible to agree on the return of groups of children who had previously been illegally transported to Russia.

In addition to diplomatic steps, the First Lady announced humanitarian support provided by the US to coordinate the process of reuniting families: assistance from representatives, data collection, and communication with Ukrainian authorities and international partners.

As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska met with US First Lady Melania Trump in New York on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, where the two discussed joint efforts to safeguard children affected by Russia’s ongoing war.
