Nominees for Golden Globe Awards Announced
On Monday, the nominees for the 82nd Golden Globe Awards were announced. Films and TV series released in 2024 will compete for one of the most prestigious awards in the film industry. It is reported by The Guardian.
The nominees were announced by American actress, screenwriter and comedian Mindy Kaling and American actor Morris Chestnut.
The French musical ‘Emilia Perez’ directed by Jacques Audiard received the largest number of nominations - it got into ten nominations at once. Among them: Best Musical or Comedy, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Original Score, etc.
The Brutalist, directed by Brady Corbett, has also garnered a considerable number of nominations - the story of a Hungarian architect is up for seven awards. The team behind The Conclave, a film about a conflicted priest who watches the papal election, has a chance to take home six statuettes.
Other films that have received four or more nominations include Anora, Challengers, Wicked and The Substance.
As for TV series, the leader in terms of the number of nominations was the show The Bear (it has five). Its previous season was also among the leaders at last year's Golden Globes. Shogun and Slow Horses have four nominations each.

The American Golden Globe Film Award has been in existence since 1944. It is awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for films and television. The awards are voted on by 300 leading journalists specialising in Hollywood.
The award ceremony takes place at the beginning of the year and symbolically kicks off the film awards season. Another prestigious film award, the Oscars, ends it.
The 82nd Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday, 5 January.
