Poles to Receive Survival Handbooks from Authorities

By the end of 2025, the Polish authorities plan to provide every family in the country with a special handbook with recommendations on how to act in a crisis, RMF24 reports.
The guide is being prepared by the Polish Ministry of the Interior in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and the Government Security Centre. Its printed version will be distributed free of charge to every Polish household in the second half of 2025 as part of the Programme for the Protection of the Population and Civil Defence.
The document will contain practical advice on survival in the first 72 hours after an emergency. It will include recommendations on how to act in the event of a prolonged power outage, lack of water supply or communication, as well as instructions in case of necessary evacuation.
‘All citizens, every household, should be able to live on their own for three days,’ said Robert Klonowski, Deputy Director of the Civil Protection and Crisis Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
When preparing the guide, Polish experts studied similar materials from 23 countries, including Sweden and Norway.
The document will be available not only in Polish but also in minority languages, including Ukrainian.
The Ministry of the Interior of Poland emphasises that this guide will be useful not only in wartime, but also in the event of natural disasters or other crisis situations.
As The Gaze previously reported, Poland and Slovakia have agreed to expand cooperation in the defence industry, in particular in the production of 155mm shells.
