Prince William's Staggering Annual Salary and Prince Harry's Upcoming Inheritance from Grandmother Revealed
Prince William of Wales received a staggering $30 million salary from his Duchy of Cornwall estate during the 2023-2024 fiscal year, People writes.
The Duchy of Cornwall today published its integrated annual report, showing a huge surplus of USD 30.4 million for the financial period 2023-2024. This amount covers the official, charitable and private expenses of Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children.
William inherited this estate and the title of Duke from his father, King Charles III, when he ascended the throne in September 2022.
As a working member of the royal family, the 42-year-old Prince of Wales does not receive a traditional income. Instead, his annual expenses are largely covered by the Duchy of Cornwall, an estate established by King Edward III in 1337 to provide for an heir to the throne. This vast estate, worth over $1 billion, covers 130,000 acres in 23 counties in England and Wales and includes land, farms, houses, and other assets to support the heir and their family. William pays income tax on all the income he receives from the Duchy of Cornwall, after deducting household expenses that have not been determined.
Last year, the estate raised around $29 million, although William only saw a fraction of it as he inherited the title and estate in the middle of the year.
Prince Harry will also soon be able to boast of a hefty salary. The Duke of Sussex will turn 40 on 15 September, and he will receive a staggering cash gift. It is reported that the father of two is to receive a whopping $8.5 million from his share of a $90 million trust fund that his late great-grandmother, the Queen Mother, set up before her death in 2002, and this huge sum will be more than what William plans to receive.
