Germany has made a record contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
The Gaze reports on it according to Dzerkalo tyzhnia.
Germany has transferred more than €160 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. This is the largest single contribution since the fund was established in spring 2022 and exceeds the total amount contributed for the whole of 2024. Of this amount, €160.11 million came from the German Foreign Ministry and another €3 million from the German Ministry of Economy and Energy through the German development bank KfW, according to the Ministry of Energy.
The ministry stressed that the Fund, managed by the Energy Community Secretariat, is one of the most effective mechanisms for assisting Ukraine's fuel and energy sector. The funds are used to purchase equipment for energy companies and are used for recovery after Russia's attacks on Ukraine.
The ministry added that Ukrainian energy companies also receive international humanitarian aid in the form of equipment. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, 1,995 humanitarian shipments weighing a total of almost 26,000 tons have arrived in Ukraine for the energy sector. This aid comes from 38 countries and includes equipment for emergency repairs after enemy shelling and equipment that allows for the expansion of distributed generation capacity.
Earlier, the Ministry of Energy reported that Germany remains the largest donor to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. In 2022, Germany's contribution amounted to almost €130 million, in 2023 – €88.5 million, in 2024 – €159.5 million, and in 2025 – about €12 million. As of December 18, 2025, the total amount of contributions from this country reached almost €390 million.
