Rubio : Ukraine and Russia Are Currently Fighting Over 20% of Donetsk Oblast
He added that there would be no unlimited support for Ukraine from the US.

The disputes between Ukraine and Russia currently concern, first and foremost, the territory of the Ukrainian Donbas, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in an interview with Fox News.
‘Right now, they are literally fighting over a territory measuring 30-50 kilometres and 20% of the Donetsk region, which remains under Ukrainian control. We have tried to figure this out and, in my opinion, have made some progress on the issue of what Ukrainians can live with and what security guarantees for the future they will consider acceptable,’ he said.
Rubio noted that the United States is seeking to help the parties to the conflict overcome their differences, but the decision to end the fighting will be made by Kyiv and Moscow.
‘If they decide they don't want to end the war, it will continue, but we will continue our efforts to bring it to an end,’ Rubio said.
He added that America will continue its attempts to stop the war, but to do so, it is necessary to negotiate with both sides.
"There are some irrational people involved in this process who believe that we should only talk to Ukraine and not negotiate with Russia at all. However, it is impossible to end the war between Russia and Ukraine without negotiating with Moscow, and Kyiv's position must also be taken into account," the Secretary of State said.
At the same time, he noted that the current US administration does not consider an approach that involves unlimited continued support for Kyiv to be realistic, so ‘this will not happen.’
