A building used by the U.S. aerospace company Boeing in Kyiv was heavily damaged during a recent large-scale Russian air attack, in what Ukrainian officials and company sources say may have been a deliberate strike on the American business, The Gaze reports, citing The Financial Times.

The attack occurred during one of the most intense overnight barrages of the war so far, involving more than 300 drones and missiles launched at cities including Kyiv and Odesa.

Photos published by Ukraine’s State Emergency Service show significant destruction and fires at the Boeing site, which emergency services managed to contain. According to company representatives, no Boeing employees were injured, and the company’s operations in Ukraine continue without major disruption.

Boeing has a long-standing presence in Ukraine, employing more than 1,000 local staff mainly in engineering and technical roles. The company collaborates closely with Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer Antonov, particularly on military and transport aviation projects.

Earlier this year, Boeing executives met with Ukraine’s defense minister and Antonov leadership to discuss expanded cooperation, including the potential co-production of unmanned aerial systems.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha described the attack as “another example of Putin’s disregard for U.S. peace efforts,” warning that the targeting of American businesses emphasizes the need for sustained U.S. engagement in Ukraine’s security and reconstruction.

The strike on Boeing adds to a growing list of Russian attacks on Ukrainian industrial and defense infrastructure, including Antonov plants and other defense-related facilities. Western analysts say the attacks are part of Moscow’s broader strategy to weaken Ukraine’s production capacity and deter foreign business involvement.

The incident has also raised concerns among U.S. businesses operating in Ukraine. According to the American Chamber of Commerce (ACC), nearly half of its 700 member companies have reported damage to their facilities, and over 30% have lost employees due to Russian attacks since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022.
