Ukrainian Troops Train International Partners in FPV Drone Warfare During UK-Based Exercises

During multinational exercises in the United Kingdom under Operation Interflex, Ukrainian military instructors shared advanced battlefield tactics involving First-Person View (FPV) drones with allied forces, including personnel from Australia and Finland.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The drills, conducted on a British military training ground, marked a new phase in the evolution of Operation Interflex – a UK-led initiative that has trained thousands of Ukrainian soldiers since 2022.
For the first time, FPV drones are being integrated at scale into training activities, showcasing Ukraine’s battlefield innovations and highlighting the global impact of its combat experience.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the training is no longer a one-way process.
Ukrainian instructors now play a central role in equipping allied troops with practical drone warfare skills shaped by years of real combat with Russian forces.
“Ukrainians today are not just learning, they are teaching. This cooperation exemplifies global solidarity and a shared commitment to Ukraine’s victory,” the General Staff emphasized in a statement.
A video released by the Ukrainian military shows troops demonstrating the operational use of FPV drones, which have proven highly effective in Ukraine’s defense efforts.
These demonstrations attracted significant interest from international partners, reinforcing Ukraine’s growing role as a military innovator on the global stage.
The Ukrainian military also expressed gratitude to the British Armed Forces, Australian instructors from Operation KUDU, and Finnish military trainers for their continued support and collaboration.
The exercise comes as allies step up aid commitments. During the latest Ramstein format summit, UK Defense Secretary Grant Shapps announced a pledge to provide 100,000 drones and expanded ammunition packages to Ukraine, emphasizing the central role of drone technology in modern warfare.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s domestic defense sector continues to advance. Under the “Vitruhan” initiative, Ukrainian engineers have developed the “Hupalo” training drone, designed to mimic the flight characteristics of Shahed-type kamikaze UAVs used by Russia and Iran.
