Russian Drone Flies Into Romania Again: Defence Ministry ‘Strongly Condemns’ Russian Attacks on Ukraine
The Romanian border police found the wreckage of a Russian drone in the area of the Litcov Canal.
This was reported by the Romanian Ministry of National Defence.
Experts seized fragments of the drone of Russian origin and sent them for examination.
The ministry noted that the area where the wreckage was found is located in a non-urban area, and that the infrastructure elements were not damaged.
The Romanian Ministry of National Defence ‘strongly condemned’ Russian attacks against ‘certain objects and elements of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure’.
On 24 September, the wreckage of a Russian drone was once again found in Romania. Before that, it happened on 20 August.
On the night of 24 July, during the Russian attack, Romania sent two F-16 fighter jets into the sky. That night, there were also reports of drone debris falling on Romanian territory. Later, suspected wreckage of Russian drones was found near the Romanian city of Plauru.
Romanian Defence Minister Angel Tilvar called on NATO to respond to Russia's violation of the Alliance's airspace.
Earlier, Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said that Romania does not shoot down Russian drones over Ukraine because it is not allowed.
As The Gaze previously reported, on 20 August, fragments of a drone were once again found in Romania, near the border with Ukraine. The remains were found near the village of Periprava, Tulcea County.
At the time, the Romanian Ministry of Defence also ‘strongly condemned’ Russia's attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure,
