Russia’s Strike on Ternopil Kills 10, Injures 37 as Rescue Operations Continue
A deadly Russian missile strike on the western Ukrainian city of Ternopil has killed at least ten people and injured 37 others, including 12 children.
The Gaze reports this, referring to a post by Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
The attack was part of a wider overnight barrage targeting Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil regions. According to Klymenko, nearly 500 emergency workers and more than 100 units of equipment are operating across nine affected locations as rescue efforts continue.
Two residential nine-storey buildings in Ternopil suffered severe damage. One block caught fire, while the other sustained structural destruction from the third to the ninth floors. Emergency crews are evacuating residents trapped in their apartments.
“There are still people under the rubble. We are working with maximum caution – every minute can mean a saved life,” Klymenko said.
The head of the State Emergency Service, Andrii Danyk, has been dispatched to the site, while the Interior Ministry is coordinating efforts involving aviation units, rapid-response centers, engineering machinery, canine teams, and reinforcements from neighboring regions.

Police are documenting evidence of what Ukraine describes as another Russian war crime against civilians. Special tents have been deployed where survivors can file reports and request help. Authorities may restrict access to damaged buildings to protect public safety.
Beyond Ternopil, three people, including two children, were injured in Ivano-Frankivsk region. In the Lviv region, firefighters are battling large blazes at several warehouse sites covering more than 10,000 square meters. All affected facilities are civilian, officials emphasized.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated earlier that Russia launched more than 470 attack drones and 48 missiles of various types across Ukraine on November 19.
As The Gaze previously reported, on the night of November 14, Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, suffered a massive attack by the Russian Federation, causing numerous fires and destruction in several areas of the city.
