Massive Night Strike on Kyiv Leaves One Dead and Dozens Injured
On the night of November 14, Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, suffered a massive attack by the Russian Federation, causing numerous fires and destruction in several areas of the city.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to reports from regional authorities.
One person was killed and at least 24 were injured in Kyiv as a result of the massive attack by the Russian Federation. State Emergency Service units rescued more than 40 people in various areas of the city with numerous hits and fires.
“The Russians are hitting residential buildings. There are many damaged high-rise buildings throughout Kyiv, in almost every district,” said Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

In the Podil district, a rocket hit a residential building on the 15th floor — rescuers pulled out 13 people. In the Dniprovskyi district, fires were extinguished in two apartments in a five-story building and at another address, where the 19th and 21st floors were partially destroyed. Wooden buildings of a sports base covering an area of 200 square meters were also on fire there.
In the Darnytskyi district, a fire broke out on the territory of a school, and in the Desnianskyi district, there were two large-scale fires in high-rise buildings. At one address, nine people were rescued and 50 were evacuated; at the other, one person died, 14 people were rescued, and one was freed from under the rubble.

In the Solomyanskyi district, the roof and fifth floor of a residential building were on fire — 20 people were rescued. In the Svyatoshyn district, a building was hit and a fire broke out on the 19th floor of a 22-story building. In the Holosiivskyi district, debris fell on the territory of a hospital, and a fire covering an area of 15 square meters was extinguished in a building. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a fire broke out in an open area.
In the Obolonskyi district, debris caused a large-scale fire in a 9-story building — apartments on the 7th to 9th floors burned over an area of about 100 square meters, and one person was rescued.
According to Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko, sections of the heating network have been damaged as a result of a massive attack.
In the Desnyansky district, due to an emergency situation on the heating main, some buildings are temporarily without heat.
This is not the first massive attack by Russia on the capital, targeting residential areas and critical infrastructure. Russia regularly strikes Kyiv with missiles and drones, attempting to damage the energy system and civilian population, resulting in repeated casualties and widespread destruction.
Earlier, on November 8, Russia launched a coordinated overnight barrage of drones and missiles across Ukraine, striking major cities, residential areas, and critical energy infrastructure, causing casualties, widespread blackouts, and severe transport disruptions. Energy facilities, apartment buildings, and city services in regions including Dnipro, Kyiv, and Poltava suffered significant damage as emergency crews worked to restore power and respond to multiple fires.
As The Gaze previously reported, on November 13, Russian forces carried out an overnight strike on the southern Ukrainian city of Artsyz, the Odesa region, hitting multiple civilian and infrastructure sites.
