Shmyhal Meets EU Military Chief to Discuss Security and Defense

Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal met with General Seán Clancy, Chairman of the EU Military Committee, The Gaze reports, citing the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The parties discussed the current security situation, key challenges, and prospects for defense cooperation with the EU. During the meeting, further steps to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities were also considered.
Ukrainian intelligence briefed partners on the situation at the front, the intentions of Russian forces, and the state of the Russian defense industry.
“Special attention was paid to the EUMAM training mission. Together with General Clancy, we assessed its results. The training of Ukrainian military personnel demonstrates high efficiency. We considered the possibilities for further expansion of this mission,” said Denys Shmyhal.
In addition, throughout the meeting, the parties discussed the priority needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, namely scaling up the production of interceptors, FPV drones, and long-range unmanned aerial vehicles.
It was also emphasized that Ukraine highly appreciates the European Union's support in strengthening its defense capabilities.
"I sincerely thank General Clancy and all our EU partners for their leadership, solidarity, and strategic vision. Let us continue to work together toward a shared victory and stable peace in Europe," emphasized the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
