Sweden Announces 20th Military Aid Package for Ukraine, Plans Multi-Year Funding

Sweden is stepping up its military support for Ukraine, announcing the 20th aid package worth around $982.5 million (9.2 billion SEK) and planning an additional $7.47 billion (70 billion SEK) in military assistance over the next two years.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to European Pravda, citing the Swedish Defense Ministry.
According to Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson, the package is multi-component and aimed at strengthening support for Ukraine and increasing pressure on Russia.
“More Archer systems, drones, and ammunition will be useful on the battlefield. Europe's right to peace and freedom must be defended,” he stressed.
The new delivery includes 18 Archer artillery guns with ammunition and long-range drones (approximately SEK 3.6 billion), as well as coastal radar systems, supply vessels with grenade launchers, diving equipment, and crane trucks (approximately SEK 2.1 billion).
There are also plans to purchase ammunition, sensors, and control systems for the already transferred Swedish Tridon air defense system, as well as equipment for air bases and sensors for detecting drones and robots (approximately SEK 3.5 billion).
In addition to military supplies, the package includes investments in civil defense and services from the Swedish Defense Research Agency and the Swedish Defense University.
On the same day, it was also announced that Sweden plans to allocate another 70 billion Swedish kronor (approximately $7.47 billion) to Ukraine for military support over the next two years.
Moreover, Jonson also emphasized Sweden's readiness to provide additional support to Poland if necessary, especially after the incident with suspicious Russian drones shot down by Polish forces with the participation of NATO aircraft.
"We have immediately been in contact with Poland's defence minister where we have said we are willing to make available resources if Poland identifies an interest in this," Jonson said
As The Gaze reported earlier, Sweden is prepared to contribute to international security guarantees for Ukraine, particularly in the areas of air and maritime defense, once certain conditions are met.
