Swedish ScanJack Demining Machines Help Ukraine Clear Farmland

Ukrainian combat engineers have neutralized more than 600 explosive devices in the Kharkiv region over the past month with the help of Swedish-made ScanJack 3500 demining machines.
The Gaze reports this, referring to ArmyInform, sharing a video by 47th Separate Engineer Brigade.
According to the brigade, the specialized vehicles have enabled the clearance of 93 hectares of farmland, allowing local farmers to resume sowing winter crops in previously mined areas.
“These explosive devices differ in type, shape, and level of threat, but they all share one purpose – to destroy. And we have our purpose – to protect,” the brigade said in a statement.
Over the past month, the unit’s sappers disarmed 629 explosive hazards, from anti-personnel mines to improvised explosive devices. On average, they locate 15 to 35 explosive objects each day and process between two and six hectares of contaminated terrain.
The engineers emphasized that their work aims to safeguard soldiers, civilians, and farmers whose livelihoods depend on safe access to the land.
“Every cleared hectare is another step toward victory, another chance for a harvest, another story without tragedy,” the brigade said.
Ukraine increasingly relies on advanced foreign-made equipment for large-scale demining operations, including Swedish ScanJack systems and other remotely operated vehicles. In the Chernihiv region, a separate remote-controlled demining unit cleared more than 45 hectares of agricultural land in two months using GCS-200 robotic machines
As The Gaze informed earlier, Sweden has allocated a new large-scale humanitarian aid package worth over $116 million to Ukraine to help it prepare for winter.
