Syrskyi: Situation in Pokrovsk Is Difficult, but Russian Claims of Blockade Are False

The situation in the Pokrovsk and Kupiansk areas remains difficult, but Russian propaganda claims that the Defense Forces are being “blocked” do not reflect reality.
The Gaze reports on this, referring to a statement made by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on Telegram.
During his visit to the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad direction, Syrskyi met with commanders of corps, military units, and subunits and heard reports on the current situation and existing needs.
According to him, in Pokrovsk, the enemy is accumulating infantry in urban areas, avoiding open combat, so the primary task is to “detect and destroy” these enemy groups. Reconnaissance and strike drones, which conduct “strike-search” operations and support the actions of assault units, are of great importance in this regard.
The Dobropillia operation is also continuing. According to his report, assault units have advanced another 200-550 meters in certain areas.
“In total, 186.8 km² of Ukrainian territory has been liberated during this operation, and 246.8 km² has been cleared of enemy DRGs,” Syrskyi wrote.
The situation on the front line remains tense, with the most difficult situation in the Pokrovsk direction, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold their positions and inflict losses on the enemy.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine reported that the Pokrovsk direction is seeing the most intense fighting and a significant concentration of Russian forces.
“The occupiers are trying to consolidate their positions by all means, and every occupier destroyed there is a victory for our entire state,” he wrote on Telegram.
The situation in Kupiansk also remains difficult, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine have gained more control in recent days and continue to defend their positions. At the same time, dozens of assaults are taking place every day in the Oleksandrivka direction.
Additionally, the President noted a set of measures to compel Russia to end the war: "The only scenario is to compel Russia to end the war in whatever way is possible, in whatever way will actually work. And that means international sanctions, our long-range sanctions, our recovery after Russian strikes, coordination with our partners, and most importantly, support for our army."
As The Gaze informed earlier, Ukrainian drones demonstrated their accuracy and effectiveness on the night of October 29, hitting strategic energy facilities in Russia and occupied Crimea and dealing a serious blow to the enemy's logistical and military capabilities.
