Tesla Again Recalls Almost All Cybertrucks in the US Due to Technical Issues. What's on This Time?

Tesla has once again announced a recall of Cybertrucks. This time, more than 11,000 vehicles are being recalled due to a problem with the wipers. The recall includes all 2024 model year Cybertrucks manufactured from 13 November 2023 to 6 June 2024, which is almost all of them, given that deliveries of Cybertrucks began in November 2023, Mashable reports. 

"In the affected vehicles, the front window wiper motor controller may stop functioning due to an electrical overvoltage in the gate driver component," the recall report says. 

"An inoperative wiper may reduce visibility in certain operating conditions, which may increase the risk of a collision." 

For Cybertruck owners, this means that they will have to take their vehicle to a Tesla service centre and have the wiper motor replaced.

So far, Tesla is not aware of any collisions, injuries or deaths related to this issue, the report said. 

Compared to any other vehicle's windscreen wipers, the Cybertruck's windscreen is too large. It became famous even before the car itself was unveiled, thanks to spy shots that showed how huge it was. 

At the time, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the wiper was a big problem for the development of the car, noting that there was no "simple solution".

This is not the first recalled Cybertruck rodeo. The company recalled all of the Cybertrucks it had sold in April 2024 due to problems with the accelerator. And unlike many other Tesla recalls, which were easily resolved with a software update, these Cybertruck recalls required a visit to a service centre. In total, Tesla has recalled the Cybertruck four times since the vehicle went on sale.
