Ukraine Becomes Top Market for Defence Industry Investments – Shmyhal

Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine is becoming one of the most promising markets for investment in the defense industry and is actively developing joint production with international partners.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to the Minister, Ukraine is becoming a global center for the production of modern security solutions. In three years, the state's defense capabilities have grown 35 times, and the total potential of the Ukrainian defense industry in 2025 is estimated at $35 billion.
Currently, Ukraine's defense ecosystem includes about 900 companies and over a thousand teams of engineers and developers who create innovative technologies to strengthen the country's defense capabilities.
Shmyhal pointed out that 25 foreign companies, including global leaders in the defense industry, are already at various stages of localizing production in Ukraine. New joint projects cover a wide range of areas, from artillery systems to drones with artificial intelligence elements.
The Minister emphasized that more than 40% of the weapons used by the Ukrainian army are produced domestically. According to him, this result demonstrates the effectiveness of domestic industrial policy and the growing interest of foreign partners in Ukrainian technologies that have been tested on the battlefield.
“We are ready to share our experience by launching large-scale industrial projects with partners,” said the head of the Ministry of Defense. “In this way, we are strengthening the capabilities of the Ukrainian army and laying the foundation for technological superiority for Ukraine and its allies.”
As The Gaze reported earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that more than 40% of the weapons on the front lines are manufactured in Ukraine or with its participation, and by the end of the year, the share of Ukrainian production should reach at least 50%.
