Ukraine Convenes Extraordinary Meeting of IAEA Governors Board Over Russian Attacks
Ukraine is convening an extraordinary meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors on 12 December in response to Russia's attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. This was announced on social network X by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
‘Ukraine is convening an extraordinary meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors on 12 December in response to Russia's attacks on our critical energy infrastructure. Russian attacks on substations identified by the IAEA as important for nuclear safety pose a global threat,’ the minister said.
Recently, Zaporizhzhia NPP was on the verge of blackout for the third time in November due to Russian shelling, which damaged one of the power lines.
On the night of 3 December, a Russian drone hit an energy infrastructure facility in Ternopil, leaving part of the city without power.
In the Rivne region, an energy infrastructure facility was damaged during a night raid by the Shahed, similar to the one in Ternopil.
