Ukraine Destroyed Russian “Oreshnik” Ballistic Missile, Confirms SSU
In the summer of 2023, the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed one of three “Oreshniks” on Russian territory.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to Ukrinform.
During a briefing, the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, said that in the summer of 2023, the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR), the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), and the Foreign Intelligence Service (FISU) destroyed one of three “Oreshniks” in the Russian army on Russian territory.
He also assured that “the destruction was absolutely complete.” Malyuk noted that this operation had not been disclosed in any way. Only the President of Ukraine was informed about the destruction of this Russian ballistic missile. Also, according to the head of the SSU, several presidents of other countries knew about it.
“This was at a time when the name ‘Oreshnik’ was not yet widely known or used, and the Russians were not yet threatening to use it. If I am not mistaken, we carried out this successful operation the summer before last,” he added.
In addition, the Head of the SSU reported that Ukraine had successfully attacked 160 Russian oil, gas, and energy facilities this year.
As The Gaze previously reported, Ukrainian drones demonstrated their accuracy and effectiveness last night, hitting strategic energy facilities in Russia and occupied Crimea and dealing a serious blow to the enemy's logistical and military capabilities.
