Ukraine PM Calls for Tougher Sanctions After Russian Strike Hits Cabinet Building

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko has released a video showing the Cabinet of Ministers building in Kyiv damaged by a Russian missile strike.
The Gaze reports this, referring to Svyrydenko’s post on social media platform X.
The Ukrainian PM claimed that the attack would not stop the government’s work.
“This is how the headquarters of Ukraine’s government now looks after this morning's Russian attack. Our whole team works in this building daily. Fortunately, no one was injured. Russian barbarism will not halt the work of Ukraine’s government,” she said.
Svyrydenko added that while the walls could be rebuilt, the lives lost could not be restored.
“The walls will be repaired, they are only bricks, but the lives of our people can’t be restored. In this night’s Russian attack 4 people killed and 44 injured,” she stated.
The Ukrainian PM stressed that Russia clearly has no interest in peace and called on allies to help Ukraine protect its skies and cripple Russia’s war machine.
She underlined that Ukraine urgently needs stronger air defenses to shield its cities and energy system as winter approaches, as well as sanctions targeting Russian oil and gas revenues.
“We need stronger air defense – more systems and more ammunition – to shield our cities and our energy system as winter approaches. We need tougher sanctions that will deprive the aggressor of oil and gas revenues, the very resources funding its terror,” she said.
Meanwhile, Western officials cautioned that the strikes on Ukraine’s government headquarters are deeply shocking and reflect the Kremlin’s sense of impunity.
As The Gaze previously reported, Russia unleashed a record wave of drones and missiles on Ukraine overnight, striking residential districts in Kyiv, killing at least two people, including an infant, and leaving two dozens injured. For the first time since the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers building sustained direct damage.
