President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has highlighted positive developments in the country's arms production, stating that the production of self-propelled artillery units, drones, and munitions is on the rise. Zelenskyy made these remarks in a video address.

"We have achieved important results in our domestic defence production, particularly in increasing the number of 'Bohdan' self-propelled artillery units produced monthly, reaching up to 10 per month. This is a good result. Overall, there are positive aspects in arms production, especially in the production of drones and munitions. I am consistently grateful to every company, every manufacturer that provides our Defence Forces and the security of Ukraine with everything necessary," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The President also expressed gratitude to Germany, represented by Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck, who is currently visiting Ukraine.

"We highly value Germany's leadership, which helps not only us in Ukraine protect lives but also the whole of Europe—maintaining the kind of Europe that knows how to be peaceful, lawful, and caring for people. Germany is among the world leaders in supporting our defence. We discussed what is needed to truly respond effectively to all security challenges this year, to what Russian terrorists are preparing for. We discussed with Mr. Habeck the front, our needs in air defence, and the corresponding communication with partners—third countries that can help and with whom our German friends will discuss this," Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained.

Vice Chancellor of Germany Robert Habeck arrived in Ukraine on an unannounced visit on April 18 to hold talks with Ukrainian leadership, focusing primarily on assisting the energy sector after destructive Russian attacks.

In addition to cooperation in energy, the parties plan to discuss relations in the defence industry. Habeck's visit is accompanied by a delegation of representatives from small businesses, including leaders and executives from the energy and defence sectors.

Robert Habeck also emphasized that his visit confirms Germany's commitment to providing long-term support to Ukraine.
