Deputy Ministers of Defence of Ukraine Lieutenant General Yevhen Moysiuk and Kateryna Chernogorenko met with a delegation from the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence led by Deputy Minister of Defence of Lithuania Thomas Godlauskas.

The Gaze reports on this with reference to the website of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged experience in developing capabilities in the security and defence sector.

The Lithuanian delegation was interested in Ukraine's experience in organising mobilisation, recruitment, training and education of personnel, the use of unmanned systems, and methods of countering disinformation.

In turn, Ukrainian officials were interested in Lithuania's experience in strategic communications and cyber defence development, particularly in the context of the creation of a special Cyber Operations Command of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

During the discussion, Yevhen Moysiuk stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the defence sector, noting that Lithuania has been providing comprehensive and resolute support to Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor since the beginning of the large-scale Russian invasion.

‘We are grateful to Lithuania for its comprehensive and systematic support since the beginning of the invasion. The commitment of 0.25% of GDP demonstrates Lithuania's outstanding and significant contribution, which not only strengthens Ukraine's ability to resist aggression, but also ensures the security of Europe as a whole. We deeply appreciate this support and look forward to its continuation in the future,’ said the Lieutenant General.

Kateryna Chernohorenko presented the achievements of the Ukrainian defence sector in the field of digital technologies to the Lithuanian side. She briefed the partners on the results of the Army+ and Reserve+ applications developed by the Ministry of Defence team, as well as the development of the DELTA and Vezha situational awareness systems.

‘Lithuania always supports our initiatives and actively chairs the IT coalition. We are grateful to our colleagues for their infrastructural contribution to the automation of defence resource management processes. We are open and ready to share our experience in implementing the best digital practices and solutions in the defence and security sector,’ said the Deputy Minister of Defence.

Thomas Godlauskas, for his part, assured of further support for Ukraine, including fulfilling commitments under the Capability Coalitions, participation in personnel training, and providing rehabilitation support to wounded Ukrainian servicemen.

The parties agreed to further cooperate and develop contacts in the security and defence sector.

As The Gaze reported earlier, at a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defence (Ramstein format) on April 11, Lithuania pledged to allocate 30 million euros for various forms of military assistance to Kyiv.
