Ukraine Wins World Cup Stage in Underwater Sports

Ukraine's national team won nine medals and the first team place at the second stage of the World Underwater Sports Cup (flipper swimming).
According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Youth and Sports, the competition took place in Lignano Sabiadorro, Italy.
Veronika Vorobyova (1500 m flippers, juniors, Ukrainian record among juniors), Veronika Vorobyova (800 m flippers, juniors, Ukrainian record among juniors), Yelyzaveta Grechikhina (200 m flippers, juniors), and Serhii Smishchenko (50 m diving) won gold medals for the Ukrainian team.
The Ukrainians were also the first in the men's 4x100 relay (Oleksandr Kuzmenko, Vitalii Hora, David Yeliseyev, Serhii Smishchenko).
Artem Korneyev (400 m flippers, Ukrainian record), Yelyzaveta Grechikhina (100 m flippers, juniors), Veronika Vorobyova (400 m, juniors) and Vitaliy Gora (400 m diving) won silver medals.
The Ukrainians also set three Ukrainian records at these competitions.
As The Gaze reported, a few days ago, Ukrainian high jumper, Olympic champion and world record holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh climbed to the podium at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Nanjing, China. She won a bronze medal in the high jump.
