Ukraine’s Defence Minister: Security Aid to Ukraine in 2025 Will Surpass All Previous Years

Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umerov announced a major breakthrough in international military assistance following the 28th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, commonly known as the “Ramstein” format, The Gaze reports.
According to Umerov, Ukraine’s partners reaffirmed their strong and united support, with pledged aid for 2025 expected to exceed the total from all previous years of Russia’s full-scale war.
“Security assistance in 2025 will surpass the levels of all previous years,” Umerov said after the meeting, emphasizing that new aid packages from key allies would significantly boost Ukraine’s defense capabilities, particularly in air defense, drones, and long-range weapons.
United Kingdom:
• Announced a record-breaking £350 million drone aid package, enabling the delivery of 100,000 drones to Ukraine in 2025.
• Total UK military aid next year will reach £4.5 billion, including £247 million dedicated to training the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Germany:
• Confirmed a €5 billion military support package.
• Includes funding for long-range weapons to be produced in Ukraine, air defense systems, ammunition, and more.
Netherlands:
• Unveiled a €400 million package with a focus on maritime security, including a mine countermeasure vessel, boats, and maritime drones.
Belgium:
• Announced a long-term support plan with €1 billion annually until 2029, including the transfer of a mine countermeasure vessel.
Norway:
• Allocated $700 million for drones with a focus on boosting Ukraine’s domestic defense industry.
• Pledged an additional $50 million to the NSATU Trust Fund.
Canada:
• Contributed $45 million for drones, electronic warfare systems, IT, and Coyote and Bison armored vehicles.
Sweden:
• Provided €440 million for international procurement programs covering artillery ammunition, drones, and other weaponry.
Umerov expressed his gratitude to all allies, highlighting the efforts of UK Defence Secretary John Healey and German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius for organizing the meeting. He underscored that Ukraine’s path to peace depends on international unity:
“Peace in Ukraine must be just, lasting, and protected by international unity. Together, we are working toward achieving this. Our unity brings a just peace closer!”
