Ukraine`s Defense Ministry to Create a Coordinated Platform for Mine Action

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (MoD) proposes to officially recognize the Ukrainian Training and Testing Complex (UTTC) as the main platform for interagency cooperation in the field of mine action.
The Gaze reports this referring to the message of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
This initiative was put forward by Olha Drobot, a representative of the Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Protection and Environmental Safety of the Ministry of Defense, during a meeting on further coordination of mine action in Ukraine.
The UTTC complex was created with funds from the Ministry of Defense and has become an effective infrastructure for testing innovations in humanitarian demining.
“UTTC, as the logistics, training, and communication core, is already forming an ecosystem of testing grounds where technologies are to be tested, people are to be trained, and ideas are to be implemented,” noted Olga Drobot.
Members of the cluster also brought up the use of virtual reality to inform about explosive risks, underwater demining and the creation of a unified system for training humanitarian demining specialists.
The Gaze previously reported that the volume of cleaned and certified areas increased by almost 50% compared to last year.
