Danish Refugee Council Provides Critical Equipment for Ukraine’s Mine Clearance

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has received special equipment for mine clearance from the Danish Refugee Council that will improve the quality control of demining and the safety of the civilian population.
The Gaze reports, citing the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The equipment was transferred as part of a large-scale project, “Comprehensive Humanitarian Mine Action to Support Early Recovery in Ukraine 2023-2026,” which aims to strengthen national capacity in the field of mine action and the restoration of war-affected areas.
The latest technical equipment will be used by the Joint Center for Excellence and Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety to more thoroughly check the quality of demining and improve the effectiveness of operations.
“The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is taking effective measures to increase the number of demining quality control teams,” emphasized Colonel Oleg Shuvarsky, head of the mine action department. This assistance is expected to be another important step in ensuring the safety of citizens and stability in the restored territories.
Colonel Shuvarsky also expressed his gratitude to the Danish Council for its long-standing and fruitful cooperation, noting its contribution to the development of national mine action capabilities.
According to him, partnership with international organizations helps the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense to effectively perform its tasks of protecting citizens and gradually restoring the affected regions.
As The Gaze wrote earlier, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark have jointly committed approximately $500 million (5 billion Norwegian kroner) to fund a new NATO initiative aimed at delivering U.S.-manufactured military equipment to Ukraine.
