Ukraine’s Diia.Education Wins Global “Education Oscar” at QS Reimagine Awards

The Ukrainian platform Diia.Education has gained international recognition, winning the gold award at the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2025 in the Lifelong Learning category.

Dіia.Education, created in 2020 to teach Ukrainians digital literacy, has become a powerful tool for retraining and career building. 

After a full-scale invasion and the need to be relaunched in 2023 with the support of Google.org, the platform offers more than 30 areas of study and has issued more than 5 million certificates, helping millions of people adapt to new employment conditions during the war.

For those who do not have gadgets or stable internet access, there are over 5,000 offline digital education hubs. The main advantage of the platform is its practicality: through integration with leading job search sites, users can immediately apply the skills they have acquired and find relevant vacancies.

“We have combined learning with the opportunity to find a job. Through integration with major job search services, users can immediately apply their skills — the system pulls up thousands of relevant vacancies,” wrote Mykhailo Fedorov, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

Diia.Education's strategic partners include the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, the Eastern Europe Foundation, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Google.org, the Ukrainian Bar Association, and the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine, which provides comprehensive support and development for the platform.

“Almost 3 million citizens are already studying on Diia.Education, and 75% successfully complete their studies. This proves that the demand for new skills is enormous,” emphasized Valeria Ionan, advisor to the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine. “And this award confirms that we are making the path to development accessible — Ukrainians remain competitive, and Ukraine sets a global example: even in the most difficult times, we not only defend freedom, but also create people-centered innovations that inspire and empower people around the world.”

The platform continues to actively develop, offering new courses and resources for adults, and helps to bridge the gap between labor market needs and citizens' skills by making education accessible and practical for every Ukrainian.

QS Reimagine Education is a global forum for higher education leaders and EdTech innovators, where the most progressive educational projects are recognized each year. In 2025, the event took place in London under the theme “Mind the Gap — It's getting wider”.

During the event, the QS Reimagine Education Awards are traditionally presented, which for over a decade have recognized the best innovative practices that improve the quality of education, employment opportunities, and the level of sustainable development in education. With 18 categories, the award allows the most successful and creative educational solutions to be presented to a global audience.

Diia is a Ukrainian digital government services platform created to enable citizens to obtain documents, certificates, services, and interact with the state simply from their smartphones. Through large-scale digitalization, Diia has become one of the most advanced e-government systems in the world.
