Ukrainian actors Ivan Blindar and Maria Stopnik from the Ivano-Frankivsk Drama Theatre will take part in the International Shakespeare Festival, which will be held from April 18 to 28 in the English city of York. The performance featuring Ukrainian actors under the title "WORKING TITLE" will take place on April 20 at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM local time. This information is provided by the festival organizers on their website.

"Two wonderful actors from Ukraine have joined us in York for a week of rehearsals. We have invited actors from York, as well as students from St. John's University in York, and most importantly, members of the Ukrainian community in the city and region, to participate in the project," the festival organizers report.

It is noted that the festival organizers decided to create a joint project with the Ukrainian theatre as a way to demonstrate support and solidarity with Ukrainian theatres.

It is also reported that from June 17 to 22, the International Shakespeare Festival will also take place in Ivano-Frankivsk. Its aim is to draw the attention of the global community to Ukraine's daily struggle for dignity and the values of a free country.

"The emergence of any new festival in the Shakespearean world is wonderful. Launching a festival during a war is a bold and heroic act that demonstrates the importance of our culture at the heart of national identity. We decided that in honor of this new festival, we should create a joint project with the Ivano-Frankivsk Theatre here at our festival in York to demonstrate our support and solidarity with them," the organizers of the York festival noted.

The Gaze previously reported that the Ukrainian opera "ChornobylDorf" will be shown in New York. "ChornobylDorf" is a truly captivating synthetic performance that seeks to reinterpret the post-apocalypse through international research, cultural, and artistic experience.

It is a multi-layered cultural project that combines live opera (archaeological opera), virtual reality (opera of real virtuality), an anthropological museum, and the Chernobyl Culture Institute.
