Ukrainian Rowers Win 4 Medals at World Championships in Croatia
Ukrainian rowers have already won four medals at the 2024 ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships in the Croatian city of Metkovic.
This was reported on Facebook by the Ukrainian Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Juniors Artem Bocheluk and Maksym Lavrenchuk won silver in the double sculls at a distance of 15.4 km with a time of 01:10.46.15.
The Hungarian and Polish crews took gold and bronze respectively.
Anastasia Dezhytska also became a silver medallist in the 11.8 km single canoe among the U23s. She covered the distance in 01:03.52.00, second only to Lili Matkovics from Hungary.
The day before, the Ukrainians had a double podium in the short distance (3.4 km) single sculls. Liudmyla Babak became a silver medallist with a time of 17.07.88, and Olena Tsyhankova won a bronze medal (17.34.09).
For the second year in a row, Zsófia Kiszban from Hungary won the race (16.48.93).
