Ukrainian Sci-Fi Film U Are the Universe to Screen at Swiss Festival

The Ukrainian science fiction film U Are the Universe, directed by Pavlo Ostrikov, will be screened at the 24th Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF), held from July 4 to 12 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, The Gaze reports.
The film will be shown on July 6, 9, and 12 as part of the International Competition section of the festival.
Set in a dystopian future, the film follows Andriy, a Ukrainian long-haul space trucker who transports nuclear waste from Earth to Jupiter’s moon.
When Earth unexpectedly explodes and its debris wipes out everything in its path, Andriy finds himself the last known human alive — until he hears a distress signal from a Frenchwoman named Catherine.
U Are the Universe was produced by ForeFilms in cooperation with Belgium and supported by the Ukrainian State Film Agency (Derzhkino). It is scheduled for theatrical release in Ukraine on November 20, 2025.
NIFFF is a major European festival dedicated to genre cinema, digital arts, and cinematic experimentation. Known for its open-air screenings and bold programming, the festival highlights films that blur the lines between reality and imagination.
As The Gaze previously reported, Ukrainian director Pavlo Ostrikov's film U Are the Universe has won two nominations at the French festival Hallucinations Collectives in Lyon, France.
