Ukrainian, US Presidents Discuss 'Mega-Deal' on Arms Sales

The presidents of Ukraine and the United States, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump, are discussing an agreement that would involve the purchase of American weapons in exchange for the sale of Ukrainian drones.

The Gaze writes about this, referring to Zelenskyy's interview with The New York Post.

According to Zelenskyy, his last conversation with Trump concerned an agreement under which the United States and Ukraine would support each other in the field of aviation technology.

In return, Kyiv will be able to purchase some American weapons, but the details of this agreement are not yet clear.

‘The American people need this technology (drones – Ed.), and you should have it in your arsenal. I think this is really a mega-deal, a win-win for both sides, as they say,’ he added.

Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready to share its experience in the field of unmanned aerial technology ‘with America and other European partners,’ mentioning Denmark, Norway and Germany.

As The Gaze reported earlier, on 14 July, US President Donald Trump announced an agreement between the US and NATO under which European allies will pay for American weapons supplies to Ukraine.

Trump also announced the delivery of additional Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine.

At least for some of the US's European allies, Trump's announcement of a plan for Europeans to purchase American weapons for Ukraine came as a surprise, and uncertainty remains as to who exactly will supply the Patriot systems.
