Ukrainian War Film ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ Nominated for Prestigious BAFTA Award
The film about the war in Ukraine ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ has been nominated for the prestigious British BAFTA Award in the category of Best British Short Film.
This film is based on real events and tells the story of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The main character is 18-year-old Ivan, played brilliantly by Alexander Rudinsky. His father, a surgeon played by Sergey Kalantai, has been saving the lives of wounded soldiers and civilians in a bunker since the first days of the war. But information about the shelter reaches the Russian occupiers. To protect his family and the wounded, Ivan takes up arms and goes to the battlefield. The film also stars Yuriy Radionov, Bohdana Kalantai and Oleksandr Yatsenko. The film was directed by Franz Boehm.
The award ceremony will take place on 16 February.
