Ukrainians Win Two 'Big' Medals at the World Powerlifting Championships in Iceland
At the World Powerlifting Championships in Iceland, the Ukrainian team has already won two medals and two licences to participate in the 2025 World Games. This was reported on social media by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
The competitions are taking place in Reykjavík.
In the weight category of up to 47 kg, Tetiana Bila won the ‘big’ silver medal in the total triathlon with a score of 442.5 kg. The athlete from Kharkiv also won small silver medals in the squat (175 kg) and bench press (112.5 kg). Tatiana finished the deadlift with a fifth place result (155 kg).
Anastasia Derevyanko won a bronze medal in the overall triathlon in the weight class of 52 kg. The athlete collected 505 kg in the sum of three exercises, which is a new record for Ukraine. Anastasiia set another national record in the squat (200 kg), winning a small silver medal. She also became a silver medallist in the deadlift (185 kg), and in the bench press she showed the fifth result with 120 kg.
