US Announces New $125 Million Military Aid Package for Ukraine

The US Department of Defence announced on Friday evening the provision of additional military aid to Ukraine valued at up to $125 million, according to a statement from the Pentagon. This marks the 63rd such package of assistance.
The new aid package is being delivered under the US President's Drawdown Authority (PDA), which allows the transfer of equipment directly from US military stocks. The package includes ammunition for HIMARS systems, 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds, Stinger missiles, Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems, as well as TOW anti-tank guided missiles.
In addition, the Pentagon is providing multipurpose radar systems, High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV), small arms ammunition, demolition munitions, "equipment for the protection of critical national infrastructure," and spare parts.
"The United States will continue to work with approximately 50 allied and partner nations to ensure that Ukraine's brave defenders are equipped with the critical capabilities they need to counter Russian aggression," the US Department of Defence emphasised.
The capabilities included in this announcement are:
- Stinger missiles;
- Ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS);
- 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds;
- Multi-purpose radar systems;
- Tube-launched, optically tracked, wire-guided (TOW) missiles;
- Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;
- High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV);
- Small arms ammunition;
- Demolition equipment and munitions;
- Equipment to protect critical national infrastructure; and
- Spare parts, auxiliary equipment, services, training, and transport.
