U.S. Secretary of State Rubio Accepts Invitation to Visit Ukraine, Sybiha Says

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has accepted an invitation from Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha to visit Ukraine.
The Gaze reports this, referring to Sybiha’s post on social media.
The Ukrainian FM confirmed the decision following the third day of the high-level segment of the UN General Assembly in New York.
He noted that three landmark events took place that day: the speech of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the general debate of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, the 5th summit of the International Crimea Platform, and the restoration of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Syria.
Sybiha said he joined a transatlantic meeting of NATO allies and Ukraine convened by Rubio, where participants discussed further steps to strengthen Kyiv’s defenses and increase pressure on Moscow.
“I expressed gratitude for President Trump’s principled stance. We discussed additional measures to support Ukraine, and I personally invited Secretary Rubio to visit. I am grateful he accepted,” Sybiha said.
In addition, Rubio’s diplomatic engagements in New York also included talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
According to the U.S. State Department, Rubio reiterated President Donald Trump’s call for Moscow to halt the killings in Ukraine and to take “substantive steps” toward achieving a durable settlement.
As The Gaze previously reported, Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S. Olha Stefanishyna announced that a Ukrainian delegation is heading to the U.S. on September 30 for talks on the legal aspects of joint arms production, including various types of drones.
