Works by Four Ukrainian Illustrators Shortlisted for World Illustration Awards

The shortlist for the prestigious World Illustration Awards 2025 includes works by Ukrainian artists Zhenya Polosina, Yulia Gvilim, Victoria Kienko, and Maria Tikhanova.

In total, illustrators submitted over 4,700 works to the competition, and the jury selected 200 for the final stage, including Polosina's illustration for the cover of H. G. Wells' collection of short stories (named after one of the stories) ‘The Country of the Blind’ (published by ‘One More Page’); Kienko's cover for J.K. Rowling's ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone’; Tikhanova's illustrations for the children's book ‘The Story of the Rabbit’, and Gvilim's illustrations for a children's book to be published in 2025 (published by Vydavnytstvo Staroho Leva).
The World Illustration Awards were established by the British Association of Illustrators. The award is presented every two years. Both beginners and experienced artists can compete.
In 2025, 500 projects were included in the long list of the competition. An international jury selected them from over 5,000 applications.
This year, the award will be presented for the tenth time, and the winners will be announced on 16 September 2025.
The long list for the World Illustration Awards 2025 includes the works of five Ukrainian illustrators.
