Zelenskyy Tells Trump Ukraine Will Not Agree to Ceasefire Without Security Guarantees

In a conversation with his American counterpart Donald Trump, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine would not agree to a ceasefire without security guarantees, Ukrinform reports.
The Ukrainian president made the statement while speaking to journalists at the White House with Trump.
‘Putin has violated the ceasefire 25 times. Therefore, we will not agree to a ceasefire without security guarantees. A document is not enough. We need a strong army. Russian soldiers are afraid of ours, but if we have empty warehouses, we will have nothing to defend ourselves with,’ Zelenskyy said.
The President reminded that today, knowing about the talks in Washington, Putin continued to use ballistic weapons against Ukraine.
Zelenskyy is visiting Washington on Friday. Before his talks with Trump, he met with a bipartisan delegation from the US Senate. According to Zelenskyy, they discussed the continuation of military assistance to Ukraine, efforts to achieve peace, Ukraine's vision of ending the war, and the importance of reliable security guarantees.
The programme of the visit also includes a meeting with the Ukrainian community, a speech at the Hudson Institute, and other events.
As The Gaze previously reported, during his visit to Turkey, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine will never compromise on its territorial integrity and sovereignty and expects security guarantees from the United States and the European Union.
