Aliyev Allocates $2 Million to Ukraine Amid Russian Strikes on Azerbaijan’s Gas Infrastructure

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has ordered the allocation of funds equivalent to US$2 million to the country's Ministry of Energy for the purpose of providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
The Gaze reports on this, referring to the order published on the website of the President of Azerbaijan.
The order states that, based on the principles of humanism, Azerbaijan provides humanitarian aid to many countries around the world on a bilateral and multilateral basis.
‘In order to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine from the president's reserve fund... allocate funds equivalent to 2 million US dollars in manats to the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the purchase and shipment of electrical equipment manufactured in the Republic of Azerbaijan,’ the statement said.
The Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan has been instructed to provide funding in the specified amount.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukraine and Azerbaijan have reaffirmed their strong energy partnership and condemned recent Russian attacks on Azerbaijani-linked infrastructure amid ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Media outlets reported that Azerbaijan may consider lifting the embargo on arms supplies to Ukraine if Russia continues to attack Ukraine's gas infrastructure, through which Azerbaijani gas flows.
Recently, there was also an attack on the Orlivka gas distribution station, located near the border with Romania. This station is an important element of the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline, through which Azerbaijani gas is planned to be pumped to Ukraine.
