Amsterdam to Provide Ukraine with €500 Million for the ‘Drone Line’ project

Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced on Sunday that Amsterdam will allocate €500 million to Ukraine for the Drone Line project.
Brekelmans shared the news in a post on X (formerly Twitter) after meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Rustem Umerov, in Kyiv.
‘Crucial is our €500 million for the ‘drone line’: drones Ukraine urgently needs to stop Russia at the frontline!’Brekelmans commented.
According to Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, the Drone Line project aims to develop effective unmanned systems units and scale their combat experience across the Defense Forces. The initiative involves creating a network of specialized units, equipped with modern technology, necessary resources, and experts.
The two ministers also signed a Letter of Intent to enhance cooperation in defense procurement. The document is designed to strengthen Ukraine's Defense Forces and improve logistics for servicemen at the front.
Furthermore, Rustem Umerov stated that the Netherlands has allocated an additional €3.5 billion, much of which will be used for security assistance to Ukraine in 2025.
As The Gaze previously reported, the partner countries of the Drone Coalition, including the Netherlands, have contributed €20 million from a joint fund for the purchase of tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance drones for Ukraine's Defense Forces.
In 2024, the Netherlands also pledged an additional €4.4 billion for military and humanitarian support to Ukraine from 2024 to 2026.
