Czechia to Transfer Half a Million Artillery Shells to Ukraine by the Year End
The Czech Republic will transfer 500,000 artillery shells to Ukraine by the end of the year as part of its initiative. This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine's ArmyInform media outlet, citing a statement by Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky at a briefing in Kyiv.
‘As you know, my country has launched an ammunition initiative. We will supply 500,000 large-calibre shells by the end of the year. We will not stop there. We will continue to provide support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine,’ Lipavsky said.
The minister also stressed that the Czech Republic would continue to support Ukraine on its path to NATO and the European Union.
The Czech Foreign Minister said that today he visited the Okhmatdyt hospital, which was shelled by Russians in July. ‘We must stop such barbaric behaviour,’ he said.
Earlier, Germany handed over a new military aid package to Ukraine, including four Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled artillery systems and 41,000 rounds of 155mm artillery ammunition.
In addition, the United States announced a new $275 million military aid package for Ukraine.
