Drone Strikes Render Ukrainian Frontline Communities Unliveable, Says UN

The UN Commission stated that Russian drones are striking civilian populations and infrastructure in frontline areas of Ukraine, rendering them uninhabitable.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to a press release from the United Nations Organisation.
The UN has stated that Russian drones are systematically attacking civilians and infrastructure on the right bank of the Dnieper River, including settlements in the Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions.
The drones are equipped with surveillance systems and track targets over long distances, including ambulances and other emergency services.
“These attacks have a devastating impact on the civilian population living in the affected areas. They have caused extensive damage and destruction, leaving entire localities unliveable,” the statement reads.
The UN Commission has classified these actions as crimes against humanity, including murder and forced displacement of the population. The Commission is expected to return to this issue in its report to the General Assembly in October.
Russian Telegram channels are spreading videos and threats, which intensifies psychological terror and forces thousands of people to leave their homes.
At the same time, investigations into the deportations and displacement of civilians in areas of the Zaporizhzhia region under Russian control are continuing. The findings point to coordinated actions by the Russian authorities aimed at strengthening control over the captured territories and displacing the local population.
“Three and a half years of armed conflict in Ukraine continue to have a devastating impact on the civilian population. The violations and corresponding crimes documented have inflicted unspeakable suffering and hardship on the affected populations,” said the Chair of the Commission, Erik Møse.
