Ending the War Is Our Common Goal: President Zelenskyy Attends Ramstein Meeting, Calls for Security Agreements with Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is currently in Germany to personally attend the 25th meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defence at Ramstein Air Base in Germany today, 9 January, called on all participants to sign security agreements with Ukraine.
The Head of State said this on Thursday during the opening of the 25th meeting.
He added that ending Russia's war in Ukraine is a common task for the participants of the meeting, Europe and the West to prevent Russia from moving further into other countries.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas also announced their participation in Ramstein.
At the meeting, the participants will agree on plans to support Ukraine until 2027 in important areas: Air Defence, Artillery, Armour, Drones, Air Force, Maritime Security and other important areas.
Ukraine currently has 27 signed security agreements with partners and expects all members of the Ramstein Defence Contact Group to sign such agreements.
The first meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group this year is taking place today, 9 January, at the Ramstein airbase in Germany, chaired by US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin.
